Remember that commercial "Calgon, take me away?" That's what I feel like right now. March has been incredibly hectic. At work, I had a concert, band director interviews and a state Dept. of Ed. site visit, and at home, one son got into some trouble on a school trip, the other had a trip to DC to prepare for, parent/teacher conferences and husband and oldest son's birthdays. Throw in playing piano at church with Holy Week services demanding more time than usual, and you have a busy month. Wait...that's not all! After three "middle of the night" bouts of extreme pain, my husband had his gall bladder removed. A week and a day later, my seven-year-old had a surprise appendectomy.
Good news though--hubby is feeling much better, and the seven-year-old was so amazingly brave, and so quick to get back to his normal self that I can hardly complain. The concert and site visit are over, parent/teacher conferences were good and a new band director has been hired. Holy Week services went well--inspirational, even, and the birthdays were celebrated with minimal hassle.
The merry-go-round that I've been on has slowed down and I might even be able to step off, but the world around me may still seem like it is spinning out of control and the "music" of my life may ring in my ears for a while. I may even decide the ups and downs of the carousel of my days is enough fun to hop back on and just try to enjoy the ride. I might even smile and wave at you as I go round. :)
